La borne Porto Média contient plusieurs milliers de films. L’utilisateur s’approche, touche l’écran, insère sa clé cinéma (une clé de type USB), choisit le film qu’il souhaite louer ou acheter, puis le télécharge simplement sur sa clé.
Une fois le film téléchargé, la technologie Porto Media vous permet aussi de le regarder sur tous types d’ordinateurs ou équipements portables.
Les contenus sont accessibles aux consommateurs même quand ils sont en déplacement. Une borne Porto Media peut être placée absolument n’importe où.
Une fois que le délai de location est expiré, le contenu est désactivé sans intervention de l'opérateur ou du consommateur.
Applications au e-learning
Un jour peut-être les consommateurs téléchargeront des cours de e-learning en les téléchargeant à côté de la cafétaria ou du restaurant d'entreprise....
La technologie
PortoMedia has developed a high speed flash memory card (Movie Key) that enables a fully secure DVD quality movie to be downloaded from retail Movie Point in less than 15 seconds. Each Movie Point is loaded with between 500 and 5,000 titles and is refreshed regularly via satellite/DSL with the latest movie and TV content.
The consumer has the option to rent or purchase content. The content is protected by Windows DRM, guaranteeing both security and compatibility with a wide range of playback devices. We will offer a low cost reader/ set top box that attaches to a TV allowing the consumer to simply plug in the key and press play to view the movie on the big screen TV.
